New Blog, New Battles

I have had to start a new blog as nothing I can do will let me recover the old Ramblings of an Eccentric Gamer. While it has been close to a year since I posted anything new, I have very active gaming.

Last night saw the return of my Dog Wars games. This was the battle of Mollwitz, pitting the United Pacts Commonwealth (UPC), the boys in blue, against the Wolfenstein Empire, the lads in white. The Empire took on the role of the Austrians, while the UPC are the Prussians. The rules used were Keith Flint's Post of Honour.

It had been over six months since we had last played the rules and we were a bit rusty with them, but in the end the game finished in three and a half hours. That is not bad for an eleven-player game with over five hundred figures on the table. The game ended in an historical outcome of the Prussians holding off the Austrian cavalry attack until the Prussian infantry had beaten their Austrian counterpart from the field.
